About China Anhui University of Chinese Medicine

Established in 1959, Anhui University of Chinese Medicine is the national clinical research base, the national modernized technological industry base of Chinese medicine, the national base for the international cooperation of Chinese medicine, the national base for clinical pharmaceutical research, the doctoral degree-conferring unit, and the unit of recommendation for the exam-exempted postgraduate.

The university covers a total area of 846453 squaremeters,which has four campuses. The library has a collection of nearly 205,500 books (including 993,500 paper books), and the ancient book collection of 33,000 which is credited as the "National Ancient Books Key Protection Unit". The Chinese Medicine Specimen Center stores 150,000 copies of medicinal plant wax leaves, which is the most abundant specimen collection among the medical college in China.

There are 15,373 students (including 1376 Ph.D, and postgraduate students), 16 colleges, 24 Chinese medicine majors, 4400 faculty members and 718 professors whose rank are associate and above. There are 2 people honored as the national master of Chinese medicine, 31 doctoral tutors, 472 master tutors. The university has 3 large affiliated hospitals and 5 non-affiliated hospitals.

The First Affiliated Hospital is the largest comprehensive Chinese medicine hospital in Anhui province; the Second Affiliated Hospital is the first largest acupuncture specialist hospital in China; the Third Affiliated Hospital is a nationally integrated Hospital of Chinese and Western Medicine; the Affiliated Hospital of the Institute of Neurology is a specialized hospital with an advantage of treating the disease of "hepatitis-like nucleus degeneration" both at home and abroad; the National Medical Center is a medical unit that gathers famous Chinese medicine practitioners and experts to treat difficult diseases.

The university has established friendly and cooperative relations with 50 medical and educational institutions in 19 countries and regions such as the United States and Australia. Students from more than 20 countries and regions come to the university to study for master's degree, bachelor's degree and clinical training. The university has interactions of scholars and students’ academic exchange with the institutions in the United States, Sweden, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
